Job description

The employer is seeking reliable, hardworking individuals to assist with the blueberry harvest. Laborer/Driver will conduct simple daily vehicle maintenance checks, pick up workers from employer-provided housing, take them to the worksite, and drive them back to their housing. They will only spend about fifteen percent of their workday doing these job duties. Other daily duties include field walking, timekeeping, scanning buckets picked, dumping blueberries into lugs, filling water jugs with drinking water for the workers each morning, ensuring field sanitation measures are maintained throughout the day, and possibly loading/unloading blueberries. Duties may also include general farm labor such as, but not limited to, weeding, planting, pruning, working under protective tunnel covers, maintenance and cleanup. Laborer/Driver is required to live in the housing provided by the employer and take workers once a week to cash checks and to the food store. This job will be done under varying outdoor extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis. Must have or be able to obtain immediately a farm labor contractor license. Background check and random drug testing will be post-hire at employer's expense.

Special Requirements

Workers must be dependable and punctual and have the ability to stand, bend, and work for long periods outdoors. They must pay attention to detail and quality. Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work.
