Job description
The Field Service Technician is responsible for fueling, lubing, and maintaining all vehicles and highway construction equipment such as pick-up trucks, heavy tractor-trailer combinations, trucks with GVWR over 26,001 pounds, loaders, blades, generators, tractors, dozers, scrapers, rollers, and all other machinery and equipment on the project. Perform or assist with all general maintenance of all machinery and equipment. Most of the vehicles serviced have diesel engines. This position is expected to operate a commercial motor vehicle in order to service the machinery/equipment/vehicle. Daily functions include oil changes, lubing, and greasing, all machinery and equipment, and inspecting all machinery and equipment to ensure fully functional. Change all filters and take SOS samples on pickups, trucks, loaders, blades, generators, tractors, and all other equipment on the project. Check all fluid levels daily and perform daily walk around inspection, to include greasing as necessary. Engaging the engines and driving or operating the machinery/equipment/vehicle to ensure it is operating properly, it is safe, and it is fully functional for the work ahead. All other duties as assigned, delegated, or necessary for operations. Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods of time. Occasional bending, kneeling, or crouching. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 50 pounds.
Special Requirements
Commercial Drivers License (HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement) or equivalent.
