Job description

On farms, worker will stay only for the calving season to monitor pregnant cows, assist and intervene with difficult births, provide care to new borns including tagging, dipping navels, vaccinations and ensuring colostrum intake. Duties include monitoring herd health, moving cattle including newborn pairs to/from nursery area, administering medicine, record birth data, maintaining sanitation, and operating farm and calving equipment such as jacks, chains and tractors. Clean pens and buldings, remove snow from cattle areas, maintain bedding, and manage fences/feeders. 6 months experience with calving required. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs for 75yds and work in temperature extremes. Ability to work long and irregular hours, and stand/walk for extended periods.
