Job description

Workers may use compact landscaping machinery such as skid steers in the approximately 60–80 hp class (e.g., Bobcat S450, John Deere 314G, or equivalent) to transport landscape materials including soil, rock, mulch, bark mulch, and sod. Workers may also use compact mini-excavators and compact track-hoe-style excavators in the approximately 8,000–10,000 lb operating-weight class (e.g., Kubota U35-4, Bobcat E35, or equivalent) to dig planting holes and shallow irrigation trenches approximately 12–24 inches deep. Workers may also operate compact utility loaders in the approximately 24–25 hp class (e.g., Toro Dingo TX1000, Bobcat MT100, or equivalent) for transporting landscape materials described above, walk-behind trenchers (e.g., Toro, Ditch Witch models, or equivalent) for shallow irrigation trenching, sod cutters for cutting sod, and light plate compactors and jumping-jack compactors for light landscape material compaction. Use of this equipment is incidental and performed only as needed to support the primary hand-labor landscaping duties described.
