Job description
Operate hand, power tools, and other equipment and instruments to perform tasks such as installing, repairing, and laying sanitary and sewer systems, drains, and water mains. Pipelayers will help prepare the sites for excavation to ensure a safe and proper excavation. Align and join sections of pipe and check slopes for conformation to requirement, using levels or lasers. The pipelayer will clean and prepare sites, set braces to support the sides of excavations, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials. The equipment used by the Pipelayers will include jackhammers, brush clippers, mowers, and other small equipment and tools to maintain the job site. Pipelayers will not operate heavy excavation machinery such as excavators or backhoes.
Special Requirements
Some weekends work. Must be able to lift 75lbs. for 50 yards. Must be able to handle temperature extremes. Will travel to worksites within the area of intended employment.
