Job description

Perform duties on a farm for a farmer like: Pilot will fly Cessna 188 for Great Plains Application farms by applying chemical and fertilizer to crops. Worker will also fuel the plane by connecting and disconnecting fuel hose to and from the airplane. Mix chemicals - Read and understand a load ticket. Load the plane with chemical by connecting and disconnecting load hose to and from plane. Load plane with fertilizer by driving and operating loader truck as well as operate forklift. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural production, such as tractors, combines, and irrigation equipment. Maintain farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Clean all equipment daily. Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Commercial Pilot license, Pesticide Applicator License, and Tailwheel Endorsement are required. Must be able to obtain a CDL within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving record for operating company vehicles.
