Job description
***RFI Response***
“supervisory and safety training duties” does not indicate that the Brick Mason will plan, assign, or direct the work of other employees. The position does not have hiring, firing, scheduling, or disciplinary authority, nor does it manage or supervise a team. Rather, these duties refer to routine, task-level guidance inherent to skilled masonry work, such as: Demonstrating proper bricklaying and block-setting techniques to less experienced laborers on the crew. Informally guiding helpers on safe material handling and use of tools in accordance with OSHA-compliant practices. Communicating job-site safety expectations and ensuring that work performed alongside the mason complies with standard safety procedures. These activities are incidental to performing the bricklaying work itself and fall squarely within normal expectations of a skilled Brick Mason under SOC 47-2021.00, who may provide hands-on guidance but does not serve in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
