Job description

Job Summary
The Electrical Laborer will perform manual labor tasks to assist electricians in electrical conduit installation, cable pulling, and related electrical infrastructure work under the direction of licensed electricians or supervisors at construction sites.

Essential Job Duties
Site Preparation and Material Handling: The worker will load, unload, and transport tools, conduit, cable reels, and electrical materials to and from work sites. The worker will prepare work areas by clearing debris and ensuring safe access. The worker will set up ladders and scaffolding as directed under direct supervision. The worker will stage materials at designated locations, organize jobsite storage, and assist in unloading delivery trucks.

Conduit Installation Support: Under direct supervision, the worker will measure, cut, and assist in bending electrical conduit, including EMT, PVC, and flexible conduit, per layout specifications. The worker will assist with installing conduit runs overhead, underground, and within walls, following the electrician's instructions. The worker will assist electricians with installing and securing conduit using straps, hangers, supports, and fasteners per NEC requirements. The worker will assist with installing conduit, threading conduit sections, and coupling conduit sections. The worker will assist with installing junction boxes, pull boxes, and conduit fittings.

Cable Pulling and Installation: The worker will assist in pulling electrical cables through conduit using pull ropes, fish tape, lubricant, and mechanical equipment. The worker will feed cable into conduit openings and maintain proper tension. The worker will assist electricians in labeling and routing cables per the electrical plans and the supervisor's direction. The worker will coil and store excess cable and assist in measuring and cutting cable to specified lengths.

Equipment and Tool Operation: The worker will operate hand tools, including hammers, wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, tape measures, and levels. The worker will operate power tools such as drills, saws, conduit benders, threading machines, and cable pullers. The worker will perform routine tool maintenance, report damaged equipment immediately, and clean and organize tools daily.

Support for Licensed Electricians: The worker will assist electricians with layout, measurements, and component installation. The worker will deliver materials and tools to work areas, hold materials during installation, and assist with cleanup.

Safety Compliance and Housekeeping: The worker will follow jobsite safety rules, OSHA regulations, and company policies. The worker will properly use required PPE including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots. The worker will follow lockout/tagout procedures and immediately report hazards or unsafe conditions. The worker will maintain clean, organized work areas and properly dispose of waste materials.

Documentation and Communication: The worker will record material usage, cable lengths, and installation progress. The worker will complete daily time sheets and work logs accurately. The worker will communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers regarding tasks and job site conditions. The worker will report work progress and participate in daily safety meetings.

Physical Requirements
Must lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally. Must stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for extended periods. Must work outdoors in varying weather, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.

Special Requirements

Applicant must have at least three months experience as an electrician helper. Applicants must be able to lift, push pull and carry at least 50 lbs.
