Landscape Laborer

Job description

Landscape and maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Sod laying, use hand shovel and pick to dig 5"x 18" deep trenches, install and maintain irrigation systems, drainage systems. Use hand shovel to dig holes for plants. Care for and provide proper upkeep of lawns, yards, fountains, planters, and other ground features. Trim, clean, edge, etc. pathways, flowerbeds and walls, using hand and power tools such as trimmers, edgers, rakes, and shovels. May drive a company truck or other vehicle.

The employer will offer 40 hours of work per week. Open 6 days a week. Normal schedule Monday–Friday from 6am-3pm. Shift includes 1 hour unpaid break time. Work on Saturday may be required as necessary. Workdays and hours may vary depending on weather conditions.

Employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure.

Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $26.54 per hour.

The employer will provide daily transportation from housing to and from the main worksite in Huntsville, and among the worksite locations.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 60 lbs.
Must be able to bend and squat repeatedly.
Must be able to work a 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
Driver's license preferred but not required.
Pre-employment drug test required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and Foreign/H-2B.
Workers subject to post-accident/injury or reasonable suspicion drug testing, employer paid, applied equally to all workers, U.S. & foreign/H-2B.
