Workers install steel edging by excavating shallow trenches using shovels and tampers, aligning edging sections, securing them with metal stakes, and cutting edging with metal-cutting saws. Install bullet edging by preparing compacted gravel or sand bases and placing concrete or composite edging pieces using string lines and rubber mallets. Construct retaining walls using manufactured concrete blocks by excavating, grading, installing gravel base layers, placing and leveling blocks, cutting blocks with powered saws, and backfilling with aggregate. Install concrete pavers by excavating, installing gravel and sand bases, placing and cutting pavers with 12–14 inch cutoff saws, and compacting surfaces. Install mulch, river rock, landscape fabric, and plastic edging using hand tools, wheelbarrows, and compactors. Handle hardscape materials including concrete pavers, retaining wall blocks, natural stone, steel edging, composite/concrete bullet edging, and decorative rock. Operate 24–32 HP mini skid steers, 25–35 HP compact tractors, 12–14 inch cutoff saws, plate compactors, and augers for tree planting, material transport, retaining wall installation, and site preparation.

Workers will perform lawn maintenance and commercial landscape installation tasks such as planting trees, shrubs, and perennials. Workers will also install mulching, river rock, landscape fabric, landscaping edging (black plastic edging, steel edging, bullet edging, etc.) Workers will use hand tools such as rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and picks. Will install sod grass by preparing soil and laying sod or hydro seeds on lawns. Workers will also assist in installing erosion control matting, retaining walls, and concrete pavers. Operate powered equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, saws for hardscape material cutting, and mini skid steers and tractors to plant trees, install retaining walls, and prep areas for rock/mulch installation. May occasionally work Saturdays.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months of landscaping or relevant experience required. Must be able to lift fifty (50) lbs. frequently throughout the workday.
