Job description
Workers will operate and maintain farm equipment and vehicles including (but not limited to) Tractors, Tillers, Combines, Grain Carts, Grain Elevators, Sprayers, and other machines. Workers will operate equipment to cultivate, harvest and seed row crops, load and unload trucks and grain carts, and haul crops to bins and grain elevators. Workers will climb ladders and check grain bins. Good safety skills of operating the equipment are mandatory. Equipment operators may be asked from time to time to work in other areas of the ranch, running irrigation, performing repairs, maintenance and general farm duties. Workers must have 3 months of experience operating 500 hp tractors in an agricultural operation. Some workers with drivers licenses may operate trucks to transport grain from employers field to employers grain hopper (Non CDL). Drug screens are conducted randomly, or upon incidence or accident. All drug screens will be at the cost of the employer. Drug test will be conducted after hire at employer’s expense.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may request additional work hours based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
