Job description

Lifeguards will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests at resort pools and poolside areas. Duties include monitoring pool activity and pool deck and maintaining constant awareness of guests and potential hazards. Maintaining pool equipment, furniture, umbrellas, and pool decks in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Hosing off pool decks, removing debris from pool decks and water, and keeping tubes and pool equipment organized. Managing pool towels, including retrieving soiled towels from laundry, replenishing clean towels, and keeping towels neatly folded and stacked. Acting with a sense of urgency in emergency situations and coordinating effectively with other lifeguards and the pool deck team. Communicating clearly with guests and team members, and paying close attention to guest safety and needs. Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 150+ pounds. Must be able to sit outside for extended periods in various weather conditions while remaining alert. Must have strong focus, awareness, and communication skills with both guests and team members. Will perform any additional pool or safety-related tasks as directed. Must have the ability to swim proficiently. Must be able to pass all required lifeguard certifications including the American Red Cross Shallow Water Certification.

Schedule: 35 hours per week. Work schedule can vary and can include evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Work may be performed on any day of the week from Friday through Thursday. Example shifts: 8:00am – 3:00pm, 9:00am – 4:00pm, or 3:00pm – 10:00pm. Shift hours may vary based on assigned schedules and occupancy or business needs. Special Requirements

The Petitioner will consider for employment any person who possesses at least one (1) month of lifeguarding experience at a hotel, resort, or private club.
