Job description

Perform landscape labor and grounds maintenance using hand and power tools. Duties include laying sod; mowing, trimming, edging, and watering lawns; planting, fertilizing, mulching, and weeding trees, shrubs, flowers, and other greenery; digging, raking, and preparing soil for planting; and removing litter and debris from worksites. Install and maintain landscape features such as sprinkler and irrigation systems, retaining walls, walkways, patios, water features, and rock gardens using interlocking concrete masonry blocks (mortarless), natural stone, brick pavers, wood timbers, and gravel. Work is performed with hand tools such as shovels, rakes, trowels, levels, wheelbarrows, and hammers, and with power equipment such as cut-off saws, drills, and skid steers. Additional duties include pruning and trimming ground-level trees, shrubs, hedges, and flowers using shears, pruners, or chain saws; attaching support wires to newly planted trees; applying commercial fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides with hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders; aerating, dethatching, mulching, and composting leaves; maintaining sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, and other grounds features; hauling and spreading topsoil, mulch, straw, or compost; cleaning and repairing tools, equipment, and work areas; and disposing of trash and debris to ensure safe and well-kept worksites. The job will require the worker to be exposed to weather, noise, hot/cold temperatures and will need to wear common protective/safety equipment. The worker must have attention to detail, be thorough in completing work tasks, cooperative, and responsible.

Special Requirements

Workers must be able to balance, walk, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 50 pounds.
