Job description

Workers will perform routine agricultural labor associated with beef cattle and grain farming operations. Duties include caring for livestock in a commercial cow-calf operation by monitoring cattle health, observing calving activity, reporting issues, and assisting with daily feeding by placing salt and mineral supplements. Workers will move cattle between pastures as part of rotational grazing using horses or ATVs. Workers will repair and maintain barbed wire and electric fencing and perform general upkeep of farm facilities. Crop-related duties include assisting with the production of small grains and feed crops such as wheat, oats, and corn. Workers will operate standard farm equipment including tractors, augers, combines, air seeders, and hay equipment such as balers, conditioners, loaders, and swathers. Workers will assist with planting, field operations, haying, and harvest activities as needed during the season. Additional duties include maintaining and cleaning equipment, trucks, pickups, ATVs, tractors, and farm implements, as well as performing general manual labor such as cleaning, organizing, and maintaining farm buildings, work areas, and the overall farm environment. All work is performed under the direction of the employer and varies based on seasonal and weather conditions. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

No experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level I Entry Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
