Job description
Workers will perform a combination of general farm labor and nursery-related duties. Job duties include preparing fields, beds, and growing areas by hand and with farm equipment; planting, transplanting, cultivating, irrigating, pruning, staking, and harvesting crops, trees, shrubs, and nursery stock. Workers will weed by hand and with tools, apply mulch, load and unload materials, and assist with soil preparation and plant care. Nursery duties include potting and repotting plants, moving and spacing plants, watering, fertilizing, pruning, and preparing plants for sale or transport. Workers may grade, bunch, and package plants and produce according to size and quality standards. Workers will perform routine farm and nursery maintenance, including cleaning and sanitizing tools and equipment, maintaining hoop houses, shade structures, and work areas. Workers may operate tractors and other agricultural equipment as needed after training. Work is performed outdoors and in nursery settings and may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, repetitive movements, frequent standing, walking, bending and stooping, and lifting up to 50 lbs. in outdoor and greenhouse conditions. Duties may vary by crop, season, and weather conditions. Workers may be required to perform any other general agricultural labor related to crop and nursery production as assigned. Workers must be able to work as part of a team and follow applicable farm safety instructions.
