Job description

Duties include:
• supports cellar operations including harvest processing, fermentation monitoring, sanitation and food safety protocols, bottling preparation, inventory handling, and equipment operation
• Planting and Cultivation: Planting vines and other plants using hand tools and farm machines, building trellises for climbing vines, and operating farm machines to cultivate, fertilize, and spray grapes.
• Weeding and Hoeing: Conducting hoeing and weeding in the vineyards, using tools such as rakes, hoes, and shovels.
• Pruning and Harvesting: Pruning vines to manage growth and harvest grapes when they are ripe. This involves picking grapes, packing them into containers, and loading the containers onto trucks.
• Chemical Application: Spraying vines and other plants with chemicals to control weed growth, insect infestations, fungus growth, and diseases.
• Leaf Removal and Canopy Management: Removing leaves to allow better sunlight penetration and air circulation, which helps in ripening the grapes and
Overtime will be offered over 40 hours per week.
Must have one month of experience working and performing these tasks with cold climate hybrid wine grape varieties.
Effective 1/1/26; all farmworkers , including H-2A foreign guest workers, will earn one and a half times the regular rate for all hours worked over 52, and for any hours voluntarily
worked on a worker’s day of rest.

Special Requirements

Driver's license and ability to operate tractors and other farm machinery, including carts, wagons, harvesters and packing shed equipment. Ability to spend long hours in pruning, combing and picking positions and to bend or kneel to weed, harvest and bunch.
Class D drivers license.
