Job description

- Install, operate, inspect, maintain, and repair agricultural irrigation systems.
- Start up, operate, adjust, and shut down irrigation systems according to crop needs and seasonal requirements.
- Monitor water pressure, flow rates, and system performance to ensure proper irrigation coverage
- Identify and repair leaks, broken pipes, fittings, hoses, valves, sprinkler heads, and nozzles
- Perform maintenance and basic repairs on irrigation pumps and motors, including electric, diesel, and PTO-driven units.
- Assist with servicing irrigation wells, intakes, filtration systems, and control panels
- Conduct trenching, pipe installation, backfilling, and other related field labor as needed
- Maintain irrigation equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- Keep basic records of maintenance and repairs and report equipment issues to supervisors.
- Assist with other farm maintenance or agricultural labor tasks as assigned.

Special Requirements

- It is a requirement for the employee to have a drivers license. The nature of the job includes moving from field to field to conduct maintenance on the irrigation equipment. While all the land is contiguous to the dairy, some fields can only be accessed by using public roads. Therefore, to complete the full scope of the job, this employee must be able to get to all fields that may be required.
- The employee will be working outside primarily and the high temperatures in the summer are often around 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
- The employee must be able to speak English, as all supervisors speak English.
