Job description

Assist with the daily care, feeding, handling, and monitoring of breeding and recipient mares on a farm or ranch;

Support seasonal equine breeding operations, including preparation of mares for breeding cycles in accordance with established agricultural practices;

Assist with the handling and care of livestock during breeding-related procedures, conducted on the farm and under veterinary supervision;

Prepare and manage breeding environments, equipment, and facilities used in equine reproduction activities;

Monitor animal health and behavior during breeding cycles and report observations to supervising farm management or veterinarians;

Assist with on-farm reproductive support activities, including preparation and aftercare of mares involved in embryo-related agricultural procedures that are incidental to livestock breeding;

Maintain cleanliness and biosecurity of animal housing, breeding areas, and equipment;

Perform general farm labor incidental to equine breeding operations, including assisting with the maintenance of barns, fencing, and breeding facilities;

Keep basic breeding and livestock records as required by farm management;

Perform other agricultural duties related to the care, management, and reproduction of horses as assigned during the seasonal breeding period.
