Job description

Workers will be responsible for operating a variety of agricultural equipment and vehicles used in the planting, cultivation, harvesting, and transportation of crops. This includes operating high-horsepower tractors (200 HP+), balers, rakes, choppers, and other machinery, as well as driving farm trucks and trailers between fields and storage areas. Additional responsibilities include setting up, moving, and maintaining irrigation systems; performing field labor such as raking, stacking, tarping, and loading crops; and conducting routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Workers will also assist with basic mechanical repairs such as oil changes and upkeep of farm machinery and tools. In addition to field and equipment duties, workers will be expected to maintain fencing and irrigation lines, as well as perform general maintenance on farm buildings and grounds. This may include painting, mowing, weed trimming, and the use of blowers and hand tools. Applicants must have a minimum of three (3) months of verifiable experience operating 200+ horsepower tractors in an agricultural setting and must be physically able to lift heavy objects, perform demanding manual labor, and work in varying outdoor conditions. This is a full-time, temporary seasonal position. Due to the nature of the peak harvest season, workers may be required to work up to 100 hours per week, including weekends and holidays. Daily schedules will vary based on weather, crop conditions, and field productivity, with workdays ranging from 10 to 16 hours per day, Monday through Sunday, as needed to meet harvest demands.

Special Requirements

Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
