Job description
Job requires workers to perform general farm labor, including planting, cultivating, weeding, pruning, staking, tying, harvesting, sorting, grading, packing, and field maintenance for a variety of crops including beans, bush, broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cantaloupe, cauliflower, celery, corn, cucumbers, eggplant, gourds, kohlrabi, head lettuce, okra, onions, peppers, pumpkins, spinach, squash, strawberries, tomatillos, tomatoes, watermelons, raspberries, flowers, herbs, garlic, rhubarb, and asparagus.
Workers will:
• Prepare fields by removing debris, rocks, and weeds
• Assist with transplanting and direct seeding
• Hand‑weed and hoe crop rows
• Prune plants, remove suckers, and maintain plant health
• Harvest crops by hand using knives, shears, or other hand tools
• Sort, grade, wash, and pack produce in field or packing area
• Load and unload produce, supplies, and materials
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas, tools, and equipment
• Perform basic farm maintenance such as repairing plastic, trellising, irrigation lines, and row covers
• Follow all employer instructions and training on safe and proper work methods
Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months of experience in a role relevant to the job expectations. Workers must be able to perform manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and humidity. Work requires repetitive bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, walking, and lifting, carrying, and loading up to 50 lbs. Workers must follow all employer instructions and safety rules. Workers must be able to work at a sustained, reasonable pace and complete tasks as assigned. Employer will provide all training necessary to perform the job safely and effectively.
