Farm Labor Workers

Job description

Workers will perform temporary agricultural labor related to the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of vegetables, melons, tobacco, and other row crops. Duties are routine in nature and performed under close supervision following employer instructions.

Specific tasks include planting, cultivating, and harvesting sweet potatoes, watermelons, peppers, cucumbers, squash, soybeans, and tobacco; tobacco suckering and field maintenance; weeding, chopping, and installation and removal of plastic mulch; and general crop care activities. Workers may operate basic farm equipment and tractors for field preparation and harvesting activities as instructed by the employer. Minor routine farm maintenance may be performed to support agricultural production.

All duties are performed under the direct supervision of Owens Farming management. No independent judgment or specialized skills are required.

Field Workers – 8 Positions
Workers will perform routine crop production activities including planting, cultivating, harvesting, field maintenance, and related temporary agricultural tasks. On-the-job training will be provided. No prior experience is required.

Drivers / Transportation – 2 Positions
Drivers will transport workers between employer-provided housing and worksites and between fields using standard employer-provided vehicles. Duties are routine and performed under employer supervision. No commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required. Drivers may assist with basic field tasks as needed. On-the-job training will be provided. No prior experience is required.

All workers remain under the direct supervision of Owens Farming at all times.
