Job description
The employees will help plant new trees and installation of the support systems on the trees. In the midst of all of this, they will be doing general farm labor which consists of hand thinning fruit, picking rocks and other debris, mulching, pruning, cutting shoots and suckers, raking and cutting debris, inserting and removing tree spreaders, pulling and cutting thorny plants from around trees. Hand placement of rodent bait around trees. Operating and maintenance of tractors and other farm equipment. Cleaning and clearing fence rows and farm buildings. Irrigation ditching, shoveling, hoeing, hauling, ground preparation and other general farm related tasks. Employer expects workers to work with and without supervision. Workers are required to handle and pick up ladders up to and including 20 ft in length and weighing 35-60 pounds. Employees will then help with harvesting crop.
Special Requirements
3 months prior experience
Drug testing is at the expense of employer and is administered only if suspicion arises. If the worker fails the drug test or refuses the drug testing, this will be probable cause for termination of employment.
Persons seeking employment in this position must be available for the entire period requested by the employer. Employer reserves the right to terminate a worker if the employer reasonably finds worker's performance to be unacceptable. Employer reserves the right to discharge an obviously unqualified worker, malingerer or recalcitrant worker who is physically able but is unwilling to perform the work necessary for the employer to grow a premium quality product, or for any other lawful reason.
The employer may discipline the worker, including brief suspension of work activities/employment for a set period determined by the supervisor or termination of employment.
