Job description
Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor for green beans, packing green beans, and vineyard maintenance. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by Employer or supervisor: packing house set-up and preparation for Employer produce only; help the farm supervisor direct or monitor the work of other workers engaged in packing and other farm work activities; assemble 1-bushel wooden crates, plastic bins, reusable plastic containers, and other green bean containers; pack green beans to quality standards; clean trailers, packing house, farm buildings, containers, and equipment; drive and operate a forklift, tractor, or other farm vehicle as directed on farm property only; drive Employer-provided vehicle to other locations within 30 miles as directed; hoe or pull weeds; general maintenance and repairs of packing house and farm equipment and facilities; and vineyard maintenance tasks, including stringing and training new vines, training sprouts and young plants; putting and removing vine protectors onto plants, trimming, removing suckers, thinning, and general repairs of posts and wire.
Pay will be hourly
Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)
Special Requirements
2 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial vegetable required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.
Worker must possess requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat packing and general labor processes throughout workday. Worker must work at sustained pace and make good faith efforts to work efficiently as reasonable under working conditions.
Job offered requires worker to be available for work for entire employment period.
