Job description
The job specifications involve skilled farm labor for the purpose of preparing and performing duties for potato harvest preparation and potato harvesting. Duties will include:
Washing and disinfecting the potato warehouses where potatoes are handled.
Conducting equipment maintenance on potato washline and harvest equipment.
Installing equipment to be used for potato harvest.
Conducting basic maintenance and preparing potato equipment and harvesters for harvest.
Operating tractors, harvesters, harvest related equipment and potato pilers, conveyers, crop carts, and windrowers.
Operating a bobcat for moving potatoes.
Notify supervisor of potato quality concerns.
Load or unload potatoes from trucks.
Calibrate equipment as necessary.
Operate a farm truck as necessary to haul crops from growing location to farm shed.
Operating a farm provided work pickup or service vehicle in order to drive to the field/farming location or to pickup/deliver parts to
the farming operation.
Performing general maintenance as needed on equipment.
General farm work is included.
Full time supervision is provided and all tools are provided at no cost.
Workers must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and work in extreme temperatures.
Lifting objects up to 50 lbs., bending, twisting, and stooping regularly will be required.
Special Requirements
3 months experience operating and performing maintenance on agriculture equipment within the past 2 years. 3 months experience
working with potatoes is required. A drivers license (standard Class C), or ability to obtain one immediately upon hire is required.
Hours of work will be offered above 40 hours per week, but is on a voluntary basis. Work schedules may fluctuate relative to weather
conditions, field conditions, and seed availability. Work may be offered on weekends and holidays, but is not required. Work hours
may fluctuate due to production schedules. Employees must be able to perform the duties and meet the physical requirements of the
job for the duration of the contract.
Job order will required a staggered entry of individuals to begin performing work starting on 06/02/2026 and concluding entry around
06/29/2026.
