Job description
Hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch. Additional hours on Saturday and Sunday from 7:00am to 12:00pm may be offered depending on operational need.
Majority of day-to-day duties include feed, handle, maintain, retrieve/return of alligators, harvesting of alligators/eggs, incubate, field prep, fertilize, harvest, plant, and water maintenance. Secondary duties may include repair and maintain alligator houses, buildings, agricultural equipment, fences, fields, levees, marshes, ponds, and property. May operate agricultural farm equipment, perform spot spray treatments, and load and unload trucks. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. Must be able to lift 70lbs. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.
Special Requirements
Housing is provided subject to allowable deduction.
Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment.
