Farmworker/laborer

Job description

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, transplant, prune, stake, tie, and other general care of crops; prepare soil and fields for planting; remove weeds; maintain and clean up farm and fields; hoeing; pick up plastic; maintain and repair irrigation; operate tractors, forklifts, or other farm vehicles on and off farm property; Worker may be required to drive farmworkers on the farm and between worksites; harvest to quality standards activities of bell peppers and summer squash.

Pay will be hourly.

Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)

Special Requirements

2 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agricultural experience in vegetable required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor, and hand harvest of bell peppers and summer squash.. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Drug testing done at employers' expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
