Farmworker/laborer

Job description

Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: plant, transplant, thin, prune, tie, fertilize, and other general care of crops; general farm, orchard, and grounds maintenance and clean-up; install tree screens/grow tubes; lay and remove mylar; install and maintain trellis, irrigation systems, and drain tile in orchard; drive and operate vehicles, tractors or other agricultural equipment such as forklifts; routine general repairs and maintenance of farm equipment and tools on farm; harvest preparation tasks such as spreading liners in bins, washing and sanitizing harvesting bins, or repairing harvesting bins; hand harvest to quality standards apples and sweet cherries.

Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)

Special Requirements

Job requires worker to complete tasks in general farm labor and hand harvest of apples and sweet cherries. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.

Experience Requirement: 2 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agriculture experience in fruit required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.

Drug testing done at employers' expense and not utilized as preemployment tool.

Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
