Job description
Perform duties related to the operation of a grain and livestock farm, including planting, spraying,
harvesting, and hauling of crops during the seasonal period of need. Operate agricultural
equipment such as tractors, combines, sprayers, grain carts, and various tillage implements to carry
out fieldwork efficiently and safely. Use augers and conveyors to move grain and assist with loading
and unloading operations. Haul grain from fields to local elevators using appropriate vehicles and
equipment. Apply fertilizers and crop protection products through spraying activities in accordance
with farm schedules. Assist with planting operations using modern equipment and technology to
ensure proper seeding and crop establishment. Perform harvesting activities using combines and
support equipment to ensure timely crop removal. Utilize mapping and precision agriculture
technology, including variable rate applications for fertilizing, seeding, and spraying. Conduct
routine maintenance and basic servicing of farm equipment to ensure proper operation. Work as
part of a team to complete time-sensitive agricultural tasks essential to crop production and overall
farm operations.
Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with
applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
