Job description

Attend to live bees to produce honey and maintain colony health through feed/supplements; medicate bees; inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, boxes and yards; assemble bee hives and insert honeycomb of bees into hives; force bees from hives; put on and take of supers; uncap harvested honeycombs and extract honey from honeycombs; lift up to 75 pounds; stand for long periods of time in any weather conditions (temps may get above 90 degrees at times); move equipment or livestock from one location to another manually or using trucks, carts, or forklifts; drive farm vehicle to obtain supplies, honey extracting equipment, and miscellaneous tools used to work with honey bees; clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping. Must not have honey, pollen, or bee-related allergies.

Special Requirements

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
