Farm Worker

Job description

Drive and operate farm machinery such as tractors, ATVs, and self-propelled machinery to till soil, prepare fields, and plant crops; Set up and operate irrigation equipment, including laying pipes, maintaining ditches, and ensuring adequate water supply to crops; Cultivate crops through mechanical or manual methods, including weeding and applying fertilizers; Assist with cleaning, bagging, stacking, and loading 50lb corn bags; Drive and control farm equipment to irrigate, cultivate, and harvest crops, adjusting implements as needed; Operate forklift to load gooseneck trailer with pallets of corn; Load and unload harvested crops into trucks or storage containers, maintaining organization and efficiency; Clean and maintain storage areas and equipment, ensuring operational efficiency; Perform general farm labor tasks as needed, including landscaping, clearing debris, and maintaining farm grounds; Report any machinery malfunctions or operational issues to supervisors.

Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on crop and weather conditions or other needs. Workers will perform a variety of general farm labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours.

Special Requirements

2 months of farming experience required. Must be able to repetitively lift 50lb bags of corn.
