Job description

Workers will perform temporary and seasonal agricultural labor associated with grain farming operations producing wheat, soybeans, corn, and sunflowers. Duties include operating agricultural equipment customarily used in grain farming, such as tractors, combines, grain carts, and farm trucks, to support harvesting and fall field operations. Workers will assist with harvesting activities, including cutting, gathering, loading, unloading, transporting, and handling harvested crops. Additional duties include routine field operations directly related to crop production, such as moving equipment, supporting harvest logistics, and performing tasks necessary to complete agricultural operations within limited time frames dependent on weather and crop conditions. Work is performed outdoors and is physically demanding, requiring prolonged standing, walking, lifting, bending, and working in variable weather conditions. All work is agricultural in nature and conducted at the employer’s place of employment listed in the job order. The duties described are routine and necessary to the grain farming operation and must be completed during the seasonal period of need from mid-July through early December to ensure timely harvest and completion of farm operations. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
