Farmworker/laborer

Job description

FARM LABORER: Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: maintain varieties of plants; harvest, plant, load, and transplant; prepare fields; maintenance, including weed whipping; dig and remove planted plants from field; load and unload plants and supplies; general maintenance and clean up, including removing debris, rocks and other trash on the farm, pulling weeds by hand, and cutting grass; perform maintenance and repair irrigation installation and maintenance.; drive and operate skid-steer, tractor, or other farm vehicle as directed on farm property only. Worker will pick according to grade, color and size that meets quality standards.
Pay will be hourly.

Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery and Greenhouse Workers (45-2092)

Special Requirements

Experience Requirement: 2 month(s) verifiable experience in commercial agriculture experience hand harvesting fruits or vegetables required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 5 years establishing acceptable prior experience.
Job requires worker to complete tasks in harvesting of Pumpkins, Peppers, Cantaloupe, and Watermelon. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
Drug testing done at employer's expense and not utilized as preemployment tool
