Job description
Helps with the directing and organizing of the pickers. Crew Bosses will drive tractors in the orchards, to make sure that bins are in the correct area for pickers to continue picking fruit and that full marked bins are removed to the loading area. Crew Boss are in charge of marking bins in the field and checking for the correct size and color of the fruit. Crew Bosses using an iPad will keep track of their pickers time, marking bins and enter them into the picking system. They will need some basic understanding of how to use an iPad. Crew Bosses will also be in charge of moving their crew members around with the help of a fully federally inspected mini-buses. Crew Bosses are also in charge of taking their crew to the local town for grocery shopping and laundry. Crew Bosses may also be asked to help with light field work. Work would include mowing rows for the next day of picking, moving ladders from area to area, transporting tractors from one field to the next.
Special Requirements
Driving Requirements will include driving tractors to move bins and minibuses to move employees to orchards, housing, laundry and shopping. Crew Boss will also be required to obtain a Missouri Driver's License for use while they are in our employment. Training and help will be provided to achieve this. License and fees will all be paid for by Peters Orchards.
