Job description

***RFI Response***
The duty “capture photos or videos when applicable” refers to the use of handheld or mounted cameras (e.g., action cameras) to record participants during lessons, when appropriate and with participant consent. These recordings are used to provide visual feedback to improve participant performance and enhance the instructional experience, and may also be used on a limited basis for business promotional purposes. This function is incidental to the primary recreational instruction duties and does not constitute a separate occupation.

Special Requirements

Requires prior experience operating electric hydrofoil (eFoil) boards and providing instruction in a recreational or water sports setting. Must be able to demonstrate and teach safe riding techniques, including balance, throttle control, maneuvering, and emergency stopping procedures.

Must possess strong swimming ability and be capable of performing in-water rescues and assisting participants as needed. Requires knowledge of water safety practices, hazard awareness, and the ability to assess environmental conditions such as weather, wind, and water conditions.

Certification in CPR and First Aid is required, or the ability to obtain such certification prior to employment. Any additional boating or water safety certifications are acceptable but not required.

Must be able to lift and carry equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, including boards and batteries, and perform physical tasks associated with equipment setup and retrieval.

Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively instruct individuals and small groups with varying skill levels. Must be able to provide clear verbal instruction and ensure participant safety at all times.

Fluency in Spanish is required due to a significant portion of the customer base being Spanish-speaking, and the need to clearly communicate safety instructions, emergency procedures, and technical guidance in a marine environment.

Basic familiarity with action cameras or similar devices to capture photos or video for instructional feedback is preferred but not required. Must be able to work outdoors in variable weather conditions and maintain a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, during the seasonal operating period.
