Job description
Operate stationary equipment such as bale press to perform post-harvest tasks such as ginning; record weights and other identifying information including weight of bale and seed; manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery; drive truck to haul crop (module and bale) to and from gin storage and fields; guide products on conveyors to regulate flow through machines; observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions; adjust, repair, and service machinery and notify supervisors of malfunctions; drive pickup to obtain parts and supplies; daily upkeep and cleaning of equipment while ginning; during times of peak need and depending on weather or crop conditions, hours requested may increase to up to 14 hours per day; work at night may be requested; employer may request but cannot require workers to work on their Sabbath. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 9 workers to begin Aug 15, 9 workers to begin Aug 29, and 10 workers to begin Sept 12.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
