Job description
Workers will perform duties related to livestock care and crop production on a diversified cattle and row crop operation. Workers will feed, water, bed, and care for cattle and assist with livestock handling, including sorting, moving, and loading animals. Workers will walk livestock pens to observe animals and report signs of injury, illness, or abnormal behavior. Workers will clean and maintain livestock areas, including bedding and manure removal, to ensure proper sanitation and animal health. Workers will operate basic farm equipment such as tractors, loaders, and skid steers in support of agricultural production activities. Duties include preparing soil, planting, cultivating, spraying, and harvesting crops such as corn, hay, and fodder used for livestock feed. Workers will haul and apply manure and other agricultural material to fields. Workers will perform routine maintenance and repairs on farm buildings, fencing, and equipment. Workers will maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment and perform all duties in connection with the seasonal agricultural cycle of planting, cultivating, and harvesting crops and the ongoing care and management of livestock.
Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D - Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II - Experience Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates the position as Skill Level II - Experience Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
