Job description

Worker will assist with the entire cattle breeding cycle including gestation and birth. Worker will also provide short term care for new borns including tagging, dipping navels, vaccinations and ensuring colostrum intake. Duties include monitoring herd health, monitoring and recording weights, mixing feed and feed nutrients, monitoring feed patterns of pregnant cows, providing proper feed during winter, moving cows between pastures and into barns, moving newborn pairs to/from nursery area, administering medicine, recording birth data, maintaining sanitation and operating farm and calving equipment such as jacks, chains and tractors. Clean pens and buildings, remove snow from cattle areas, maintain bedding and manage fences and feeders. 6 months experience with calving required. Must be able to lift and carry 75lbs for 75ds and work in temperature extremes. Ability to work long and irregular hours, and stand/walk for extended periods.
