Job description
Perform lesser tasks involving manual labor at concrete construction site. Prepare the site for placing of concrete by loading and unloading materials, running string-lines, cutting wood with skill saw, using a sledgehammer to pound stakes into the ground, digging and leveling the earth using shovels, pickaxes and plate-packers. Under supervision, lift, carry, fasten, strip, oil and set wooden and metal concrete forms using simple hand and power tools. Assist with placing concrete by using wheelbarrows, concrete rakes, shovels, walk-behind concrete vibrator. Clean up waste materials and caulk joints.
Special Requirements
Some weekend work. Must be able to handle temperature extremes. Must be able to lift and carry 75 lbs. for 50 yards. Must be able to read and understand tape measures, use hand and power tools, and read blueprints. Increased work hours during favorable weather/as needed. Must be able to obtain a driver's license. Will be exposed to repetitive motions such as bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, reaching, step-up, pulling, pushing, lifting and carrying. Must be willing to stay in hotel rooms with coworkers if necessary. Must be able to work outdoors in hot and humid conditions or freezing temperatures. Will travel to worksites within area of intended employment.
