Job description

Duties include dormant season installation of trees, shrubs, or flowers in the appropriate design pattern. Unloading materials, digging holes for root systems, properly covering the holes and sometimes sod laying, planting grass seed or connecting irrigation. Leaf removal, lawn seed and straw, lawn aeration, planting shrubbery, digging, raking, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units. Workers may gather and remove litter, water seeded lawns, trees, plants and prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges. Workers may operate powered equipment, and drive vehicles to customer locations. Duties may include sod laying, mowing, watering plants & lawns, plant transplanting, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation. Employees will be digging trenches no larger than 6 - 12 inches deep and 6 - 12 inches wide with shovels and hand tools. These trenches are used to hold tubing used in the installation of irrigation systems. All the trimming/pruning will take place on the ground. The workers will not perform any pruning or trimming activities above ground level. The worker may transport other workers to and from job sites on occasion, however this will not be their primary job duty. Workers may operate powered landscaping equipment, including mowers, edgers, blowers, weed eaters, trimmers, small tractors, and similar landscaping equipment. Workers may drive company pickup trucks and similar light-duty company vehicles to and from customer job sites. Workers may occasionally transport other workers to and from job sites; however, transportation of workers is not a primary job duty. Workers may also occasionally transport landscaping materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites, including mulch, potted plants, shovels, rakes, mowers, blowers, and trimmers. No hazardous materials will be transported by workers. All vehicles and equipment operated weigh less than 26,000 pounds GVW, including any attached trailers or transported materials.

Special Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., repetitive movements, extensive pushing/pulling, extensive walking, frequent stooping, exposure to extreme temperatures. 3 months experience required.
