Agriculture Worker

Job description

Workers will perform manual and mechanized agricultural duties related to the planting, cultivating, maintaining, and harvesting of wheat on approximately 26 acres of agricultural fields. Duties include preparing fields for planting by clearing debris, removing weeds, tilling soil, and operating tractors and related farm equipment to plow, harrow, level, and seed fields.

Workers will assist with the application of fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides under supervision and in accordance with all safety and agricultural guidelines. Workers will install, monitor, maintain, and repair irrigation systems and manually irrigate fields as needed to support crop growth and production. Workers will monitor crop development and field conditions for signs of pests, disease, nutrient deficiencies, or irrigation problems, manually remove weeds, and report crop concerns to supervisors. Harvesting activities will include operating combines and other mechanized harvesting equipment to harvest mature wheat crops.

Special Requirements

The job requires workers to perform outdoor agricultural labor involving walking, standing, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, and lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds regularly. Workers must be able to work in varying weather conditions common to agricultural field work.

All workers must complete Form I-9 and provide documentation establishing identity and authorization to work in the United States as required by law when hired. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be available for the full period of employment stated in this application
