Job description
Perform tasks in garden center including: maintenance of plants/nursery stock (e.g., tagging orders, re-spacing, re-burlapping, covering/uncovering, etc.) and retail spaces. Prune, cut ties, hand water, irrigate, and weed plants; Prepare trees and shrubs for digging by tying or wrapping root balls as necessary; secure with twine; fill/lift pots with soil and plant material; place signage. Clean tools/equipment and maintain work space, including barns and storage areas. All work performed at nursery/retail yard. Majority of plant products are not grown by employer.
Special Requirements
Requires three months of prior experience. Must lift/carry 40 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
