Job description

Greet guests, take food and beverage orders, ring up orders in point of sale system; advise kitchen personnel of items ordered, serve/deliver requested items, present check to guest; clear tables, assist with running food, prepares side work. Assists with opening and closing of club restaurant, dining room, banquet room, and other food and beverage areas. All servers will be laterally trained and at times may operate in different areas of food and beverage service. Must follow all sanitation policies and procedures. ***For the clarification of the duties for opening and closing, the employee is responsible to prep the coffee machines, with adding water, stocking serving areas with coffees/teas, glassware, silverware, and condiments, pens, staples, printer paper, order pads, and napkins, straws, lids, pitchers, and food and beverage items such as butter, milk, soup crackers, oil and vinegar, hot fudge, lemonade and iced tea; fill ice bins, using a knife slice lemons, limes and oranges; using cleaning cloth and approved chemicals to wipe down check presenters, seat cushions and refrigerators; set food tables with tablecloths, displays and floral arrangements. In closing, clean coffee machines, empty and clean bins used for ice, teas, condiments, silverware, per standards ensure food items (milk, butter) are properly stored, restock items in serving areas, return dirty items to the dishwasher, remove tablecloths, displays; clean and polish counters, shelves, walls, furniture or equipment used in food service areas and the restaurant outlets. For clarification, the other Food and Beverage areas are the Carousel snack bar, Men’s Grill and Ladies Locker room. Employees are trained to be servers and trained to be server assistants. Server assistant duties include set tables with clean linens, condiments, or other supplies and wipe tables and seats with dampened cloths or to replace dirty linens before, during and after meal service; meet/greet members; serve bread/butter, hot/cold beverages, assists with carrying food trays to tables, carries supplies and stocks server station area as needed, collects trash from the food and beverage areas serviced by the servers, reports any complaints to supervisor and assists in the tasks for opening and closing procedures.

The employer will offer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Business is open 7 days a week. Scheduled workdays vary Sunday through Saturday, including holidays. Normal shift time 9am-5:30pm. Shift includes 30 minutes unpaid break time. Workdays, hours, and shift time may vary with business needs.

The employer may increase wage based on experience, market conditions, and/or provide additional pay for performance and tenure. May receive tips from customers. Holiday bonus pay is possible. One meal provided during shift at no cost.

Overtime may be available. An overtime premium will be paid when required by Federal, State, or local law, including at time-and-a-half after 40 hours in a workweek. Generally, when overtime is available it will be paid at $28.07 per hour.

The employer will provide a bicycle for daily transportation to and from the worksite.

Special Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Food Handler's certification once employed (provided by employer).
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., bend, lift, move, push, pull and carry boxes, banquet tables/chairs, serving trays etc.
Pre-employment criminal background check and drug test required, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
Workers are subject to post-employment, post-injury/incident drug testing, cost paid by employer and applied equally to all workers, U.S. and foreign/H-2B.
Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, including understanding directions, conveying information and conversing with Members in English.
Must be able to work a flexible 5-day schedule, including weekends and holidays.
