1. Equipment Types
Vehicles: Pickup/service/mechanic/crew/flatbed/dump/grapple/chip/bucket trucks, backyard lifts, trailers, vans & co. fleet vehicles supporting utility vegetation mgmt. ops.
Industrial Machinery/Equipment: Wood chippers, stump grinders, backyard/aerial lifts, bucket truck components, hydraulic equip., forestry mowers, skid steers, tractors, compressors, pumps & support equip. used in tree trimming, vegetation mgmt. & fleet ops.
Electrical/Electronic Equipment: Vehicle/trailer lighting, backup alarms, safety beacons/strobe lights, battery cables, batteries, fuses, basic wiring, camera/GPS units, telematics devices & basic elec. components on co. vehicles/equip.
2. Duties & Tools
Tasks: Furnish/carry tools, parts, materials & supplies to mechanics/maint. workers; hold/position/secure parts during repair/maint.; assist w/ basic parts replacement (light bulbs, batteries, filters, wiper blades, tires, belts, hoses, trailer lights, reflective tape, routine items); assist w/ fluid checks/replenishment (engine oil, coolant, washer fluid, hydraulic fluid, DEF); remove/reinstall panels, covers, guards, tires & components; assist w/ preventive maint. (grease fittings, check tire pressure, clean battery terminals, organize parts, prep equip.); move parts/supplies; clean/organize tools, maint./parts areas & equip.; prep vehicles/equip. for inspection/service/repair.
Tools/Materials: Hand tools incl. wrenches, sockets, ratchets, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, grease guns, air hoses, battery testers, tire pressure gauges, funnels, drain pans, shop towels, brooms, degreasers, cleaning supplies, replacement bulbs, batteries, filters, belts, hoses, fluids & maint. supplies. Assist w/ jacks, jack stands, lifts, carts, creepers & shop support equip. as directed.
3. Diesel Engine Work
Co. vehicles/equip. may contain diesel engines (trucks, bucket trucks, chip trucks, dump trucks, chippers, fleet equip.). Diesel work limited to helper-level support under supervision of mechanic/qualified maint. employee (furnish tools/parts, hold components, clean areas/equip., assist w/ fluid checks, replace basic service items, prep vehicles/equip.). No advanced diesel mechanic duties.
4. Facilities/Worksites
Work at co. fleet yards, maint. shops, branch locations, equip. storage yards & designated worksites. Field work at utility vegetation mgmt. job sites, staging areas, customer service areas & roadside/jobsite locations for basic support/prep. Stationary work at co. yards/shops/branch facilities. Field work limited to supporting mechanics/fleet personnel w/ maint.-related tasks for co. vehicles/equip.
5. Cleaning Tasks
Cleaning = basic helper-level cleaning/housekeeping related to vehicles, equip., tools & maint. areas. Remove dirt, grease, debris, sawdust, leaves, mud, oil residue & job-related buildup from equip. surfaces, tools, floors, benches & work areas. Tools incl.: brooms, shop towels, rags, brushes, scrapers, buckets, water hoses, degreasers, absorbent pads, spill kits, trash containers, gloves, safety glasses & cleaning supplies.

Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment. Perform duties such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers.
Special Requirements
Must lift/carry 50 lbs., or more, when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Employer-paid drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers prior to commencing work and post-hire at random, upon suspicion of use, and post-accident. Post-hire background check and employment eligibility (e-Verify) check required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer-paid physical required prior to beginning work to ensure worker can safely perform the job. Incidental limited travel and double time pay may be available under certain emergent conditions and holidays. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
