Job description
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Operate farm machinery to plant, spray, cultivate, harvest and store crops.
Feeding, watering, herding, castrating, branding, weighing, catching and loading cattle.
Examining animals to detect diseases, injuries and ensure that they are in optimal health.
Assisting in birthing, administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticide.
Monitor corn stalk fields for grazing purposes and determine whether mother cows and calves should move to new grazing fields.
Move animals between pens, pastures and barns as directed
Load/unload feed, supplies, and bedding materials.
Assist in preparation of pastures, feedlots, and animal facilities for seasonal changes.
Operate tractors, skid steers, and other farm equipment to haul feed, manure, and supplies
Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures.
Ongoing maintenance includes cleaning, maintaining and repair of equipment, various workshop tasks as well as maintenance of general buildings.
Maintain and repair fencing.
Ensure humane handling of animals
