Job description
Operating self-propelled equipment such as tractor or truck with trailer that reaps, harvests, threshes, swathes, or winnows crops such as hay; performing manual or mechanical adjustments to equipment; performing safety checks on equipment; maintaining and repairing equipment and other tools; driving truck and trailer for transporting crops to elevators, silos, or other storage areas, and transporting equipment and other tools used for harvesting from one field to another; Recording information about crops; Directing and monitoring work during harvesting of crops; Participating in the storage of crops at harvest; Repairing and maintaining farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Informing grower of harvest progress; Cleaning work areas; Maintaining inventory; Attaching implements using hand tools; Weighing containers and record weights and identifying information; Guiding crops to regulate flow through harvesting machines and trailers; Positioning machinery to catch crops during harvest. Must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain following hire appropriate CDL and obtain clean driving record to drive trucks. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
