Job description
We need a seasonal employee to assist with our corn, rye, an cattle/cow/calf production season. Employee will need to assist with all job duties assigned and related to growing these crops. We are seeking employees to perform a wide range of duties supporting both crop and livestock operations. Responsibilities include preparing fields and soil for planting; attaching and operating farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, planters, seed drills, manure spreaders, combines, and irrigation equipment; and conducting planting, cultivating, spraying, fertilizing, and harvesting activities. Employees will load and unload crops and materials using conveyors, forklifts, augers, and hand tools; operate and adjust machinery controls; and monitor equipment during operation to detect and address malfunctions. Additional duties include performing routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, vehicles, and farm infrastructure; cleaning and maintaining work areas and grounds; assisting with crop inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest handling; and transporting agricultural products to storage or market locations. The role also includes livestock care duties such as feeding and watering animals; monitoring health; mixing and administering feed, supplements, and medications; herding livestock between locations; and maintaining pens, fences, buildings, and other facilities. Employer may provide pay increases for performance, longevity and/or experience at employer’s discretion, Employer may provide performance bonuses at the end of the contract at the employer’s discretion.
