Fall And Winter General Laborer

Job description

Perform manual labor tasks to support snow removal operations, winter weather preparation, and related property readiness activities on commercial and multifamily properties. Tasks include snow and ice removal, spreading salt/deicing chemicals on walkways, roads, driveways, and parking lots. Clean and perform routine maintenance to snow/ice equipment, refilling spreaders, shovel, throw, plow snow. Use snow shovels, rakes, plows, snow throwers, salt spreaders, and ice chippers. Clean and perform routine maintenance and/or minor repairs on snow removal equipment and tools when not in use.

Perform commercial and residential fall/winter storm maintenance and winterization. Tasks include clearing debris and obstructions from walkways, access points, and drainage areas; load and unload equipment/materials/supplies; and organizing deicing materials. Assist with setting up and repositioning markers, cones, and safety signage;

Perform general manual labor tasks supporting winter operations, including assisting skilled tradesmen with site preparation, cleanup, arranging and moving materials, clearing work areas, removing debris, handing tools, holding materials in place, covering flooring, furniture, or materials with plastic sheeting, drop cloths, or protective coverings to prevent dust or debris accumulation, scraping ice, dirt, old caulk, or loose materials from surfaces using ice chippers, hand scrapers, putty knives, wire brushes, or similar hand tools, and cleaning work areas. Entry level; requires supervision.

Special Requirements

Must lift/carry 50 lbs., when necessary. Saturday and Sunday work required, when necessary. Post-hire post-accident drug testing required of foreign and domestic workers. Employer may offer more than the stated work hours depending on weather, business needs, and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours.
