Job description
On farms, unload materials, lay out lumber, tin sheets, trusses, and other components for building livestock confinement structures. Trench and pour concrete build and erect walls and trusses. Lift tin sheets to roof and sheet walls, install doors, and caulk structure. Clean up job sites. Occasional use of forklift upon employer provided certification.
On farms, the Crane Operator is responsible for operating a mobile crane to lift, move position, and reposition loads. The Operator will move materials to various locations in a safe and effective manner on Livestock confinements facilities. The Operator controls crane functions by depressing buttons and foot pedals as well as manipulating levers simultaneously. The Operator will be required to unload crane accessories, including but not limited to outrigger pads, chain fall, rigging gear, and safety devices from trailers or support vehicles as well as transport the crane to and from jobsites. The Operator will be required to perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition. Onsite at the farm, the crane operator may also be required to use a forklift and will follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies and operating procedures. CDL Class A and crane certification is not required. Employer is willing to pay for these certifications for willing applicants. Three months of experience operating a telescopic truck mounted crane. OSHA approved rigging certification is a plus.
On farm, unload premanufactured aviary parts and components for aviary system that houses baby chicks to be grown into pullets for egg laying. Using impacts and scissor lifts, install manure drives, erect aviary frames, connect bridges for floor system. By hand and with basic hand tools such as impacts, drills, hammers, and pliers, install bird floor meshes, feeding systems (troughs and chains), water lines with catch cups, perches, doors and ramps, lighting (installed but not connected). These activities involve lifting and carrying, bending and stooping into the aviary system. Install ventilation system including fans, stir fans, and tunnel doors by lifting them into the framed openings and fastening using impact and screws, hang heaters from ceiling using equipment to lift and chains to fasten to the ceiling, install external grain bins using forklift to lift each section into place and man in scissor lift for fastening, using proper safety gear. Install feed lines that connect from the grain bins to the feed system in the aviary. Measure and layout livestock building. Excavate footings and level the earth to grade specifications. Tie rebar, position aluminum wall forms, and place all concrete.

Post employment drug tests are paid for by employer when applicable. Applications must be completed and a criminal background check will be run for any applicants who were not referred by another employee and are not a rehire.
Three (3) months of experience required running heavy equipment.
