Job description
Load and unload cotton bales. Operate machinery in connection with the ginning of cotton. Operate ginning machinery. Press, sample, module feed and rake loose cotton. Load cotton seed. Load cotton modules, bring them to the feeder, un-tarp modules, move bales from press to bale slab. Tie, tag and bag bales of cotton as they come out of the press. Remove a sample of the cotton from each bale per supervisor's instructions. Roll USDA Government Samples. Load bales into vehicles for transport. Clear blockages, clean lint filters, and pick up cotton on yard. Transport cotton on yard. Manually lay and/or remove plastic and/or drip tape. Count, load, and unload products and/or materials. Clean and maintain containers, materials, supplies, and work areas. Perform farm and shed sanitation duties. Clean around farm and buildings including pulling weeds and raking. Lift, carry, load and stack onto pallets by hand or machine. Operate, repair, clean and maintain farm equipment and vehicles.
Special Requirements
Two months verifiable farm work experience required. Work in extremely hot, cold and/or wet conditions. Walk, bend, sit, reach, stoop, stand, push/pull, perform repetitive movements, and lift and carry 50 pounds. Once hired, workers may be required to submit a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination of employment.
