Job description
The truss assembler will work with metal and wood trusses, produce trusses, parts or components for trusses depending on the size and measurements of projects, assemble precut materials, accuracy of assembly, using ruler and gauges, fitting parts together, place metal reinforcement plates over connecting joints and connects parts at joints, may produce or help produce components according to instructions, use hand tools and machines used to build trusses are, but not limited to: hammers, saws, cutting saws, press breaks, jigs and clamps to hold members in place for assembly, laser cutter for precise component cutting, may use lifters for heavy trusses for roof trusses in building construction.
May be responsible for pulling plates, stacking of finished product, banding, and marking materials, and pushing products into position by hand or crane on carts to appropriate work area or storing them at the end of the workday to keep the area clean and free of hazardous pieces.
Special Requirements
Three months of experience as truss assembler in residential or commercial construction settings. Must bend, lift, and sustain up to 50 lbs, work under extreme hot weather conditions. Travel will be required within several counties, no on-the-job training available, no education required. Post-hire drug test required paid by employer, all US and Guest workers will be screened equally.
